Daily Update 6: Siemens and Closing Event!

 

Dear Students,

We hope your week is going well! Tomorrow is our last day of activities for the Global Immersion - we hope you enjoy them! Final details for Friday are below:

Friday 31 March- Important Times and Locations:

  • Breakfast will be served in the Winestone Restaurant (first floor of the hotel, outside the lobby)
  • 09:15 Siemens Innovation Hub: Please meet us in Hotel Conference Room Polaris I + II at 09:15 ready for a 09:30 start.
    • The conference room is in the Mercure on Stevens Hotel complex - come down to level 1, turn right as you exit the lifts and then turn left. 
  • 10:45 Coffee Break
  • 11:00 Academic Debrief: We will stay in the conference room for an academic session and debrief with Colin 
  • 13:00 Lunch & free afternoon: After Colin's session, an optional buffet style lunch will be served outside the conference room. You are welcome to stay for some food or enjoy a free afternoon in Singapore before Ola Beach Club.
Ola Beach Club: 
The closing event will be at Ola Beach Club for all students in Singapore! We have hired this venue to ourselves as it has beautiful lighting for evening parties, there is a fantastic view on the terrace for photos. There is a strict curfew on Sentosa island for 10PM departure so we would recommend getting to the beach club on one of the earlier buses to make the most of the party and food.

Transportation & Logistics

  • Buses depart 18:00, 18:30 and 19:00 to Ola beach club on Sentosa Island.
  • Buses will at the coach drop off point and then there is a 10 minute walk to Ola Beach Club

  • Asian BBQ dinner served buffet style will be available from 19:00 (all meat is halal) , dietary requirements catered for – please pick up a bento box from the catering team. Free flow alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
  • Sentosa Island lightshow starting approx. 19:30
  • Return buses at 22:00 (hard stop for all venues on Sentosa Island), all students must board these buses as grab is limited. Buses will return to the hotel or Marina Bay Sands, I am coordinating additional stops with students in your cohort.
  • We recommend against wearing high heeled shoes as you'll be walking on sand.

Beach club rules

  • No drinking in the swimming pool
  • No swimming in the sea at night time
  • Must depart at 10pm


Transfers back to Airport - 31 March & 1 April
We will be providing transfers back to Changi Airport for students departing on 31 March or 1 April. If you haven't already, please ensure that you have completed signing up your Grab for Business account. Once your account is set up, you can use Grab to book a taxi to the airport. This will be for students departing on 31 March or 1 April only. You were sent an email with instructions on how to set up your account on 25 March from Jake Cohen.
