GEW Daily Newsletter 5 - Thursday 27 April - 8am departure

We did it, another mini milestone completed! Wednesday is the traditional hump day when the jet lag sets in, but you powered through. And now there's only 2 more days of the module :-(.

Thank you to Tobi and Hamdi for being today's student hosts and to all students to joined as a dragon to provide feedback to the start-ups. 

 

Itinerary Notes and Reminders


Thursday Morning
Meet in the lobby at 07:45 for 08:00 departure . The location for the sessions tomorrow has been updated if you miss the bus. 

We kick off with a roundtable all about football (I refuse to call it "soccer") and it's importance in Brazil. Speaker bios have been added to the event, and we will have a surprise guest speaker joining this session, not to be missed!

Casual dress is ok - i.e. trainers, t-shirts but no shorts please.

No mid-day return to hotel
The afternoon activities will take place after the final visit so there will not be time to go back to the hotel before the tours. Please bring sunscreen and bug spray as needed in the morning. You are welcome to bring a change of clothes if needed.

Catamaran tour - dry weather needed.
So far the tour is still going ahead. Rain is not currently expected for tomrrow during sunset, but the weather report does change each day.We will assess again Thursday morning and in the afternoon just before we load the buses. 

If the weather is not on our side, we will refund tickets and all will have the option to join Maracana stadium tour (free) or return to the hotel.
 

Friday Electives - you must sign up for one

A reminder that the deadline to sign up for Friday electives closes this evening at 5PM Brazil time.  You must choose one visit, and those that have not signed up will be allocated by our team.

Airport Transfers

We are offering airport transfers on Saturday and Sunday large groups going on the BA flight only. 

  • 4PM bus leaves on Saturday 29 April
  • 4PM bus leaves on Sunday 30 April
Hotel check-out is at midday, you can leave luggage at the hotel. If you join Christ the Redeemer tour on Saturday, departure is 8AM from the lobby, so please add time to check out and drop your luggage in the morning.
