This is the first of the RDJ Daily Newsletters for us to give you the key headlines and updates for the following day. This newsletter will be released at 8PM each evening with an outline of the activities for the following day. We recommend making it a pre-bedtime habit to read our lovely newsletter.
Mobile Data
A reminder that it's very difficult and not recommended to get a local physical sim card. Your Austral guides can provide some more information about this.
We have WiFi on the buses for the company visits, and WiFi at the companies so you will be connected on the days we are doing visits.
Itinerary found on IBConnect
Remember to review the itinerary and do some research on the companies and speakers we are visiting in advance of our sessions so you are prepared to engage and interact. This can be done the evening before, over breakfast or on the bus if you have data!
Changes to the itinerary will be made live on the platform so it's best to check it regularly for updates!
NOTE - Itinerary Updates
The location for the Welcome Reception has changed, we are still in a rooftop bar, and dress code is casual.
Included are soft drinks, caipirinaha's and beers for 3-hour package plus hot and cold Brazilian canapes.
You may wish to get dinner afterwards, either at a restaurant close to the reception , or return to the hotel to visit a restaurant nearby in Copacabana.
City Tour
We have 51 students signed up for the city tomorrow which departs at 2PM tomorrow. If there's only one cultural activity you do, this is it!
This is a bespoke itinerary designed to show you the key attractions in Rio and get a better understanding of how the city is split geographically, it's a great way to get suggestions of other things to do during the week.
The itinerary includes:
- Sugar Loaf (best view of Rio)
- Selaron Stairs
- Kobra Street Grafitti
- Beaches: Barra, Pepino Beach, and others (depending on remaining time).
