Financial support whilst at Imperial College Business School
There is a wide range of financial support available.
If you decide to apply for anything listed below, please do read the application details on each fund carefully to ensure your case fits the criteria. You may not be eligible for every fund/support listed below.
Student finance operate the Student Support Fund. The Student Support Fund is available for students demonstrating a financial need. The aim of the fund is to help current students who face unexpected financial hardship with their costs of living and excludes any support towards tuition fees or visas.
The Dean's Fund
The Dean’s Fund is a discretional hardship fund, funded in part by the generous donations from our alumni. The aim of the fund is to help current students who face unexpected financial hardship with their living expenses and excludes any support towards tuition fees or new visas.
Applications can be made here. As with other student hardship funds, it will require the submission of evidence including the most recent three months of bank statements.
If you are in receipt of an award which has been taken away due to an event of a social or political upheaval, environmental or industrial disaster, or health or economic crises, or where a regional or national level institution has withdrawn their funding or where banks have stopped money leaving the country or where UK banks have stopped withdrawals from a certain nationality’s bank accounts, you may be eligible to apply for financial help through the Student Global Relief Fund.

Now open on the Sherfield Walkway, The Pantry is a new pop-up concept that offers everyday essentials at low, wholesale prices. Utilising the College’s bulk-buying power, the Pantry offers foods such as rice, pasta, cereals and vegetables at discounted rates. You'll either be able to pick up a pre-packed (no plastic) grab bag or weigh out your own produce. Like all Taste Imperial outlets, The Pantry is operated on a not-for-profit basis.
ICU have a Food Bank Partnership. If you are struggling to afford food, especially given the current cost of living crisis, you can now reach out to their Advice Service (advice@imperial.ac.uk) or the Working-Class Network (icu-working-class@imperial.ac.uk) who will be able to issue an e-voucher for your local food bank. Here, you will be able to collect a parcel containing three days' worth of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable foods. Hygiene products and toiletries may be provided subject to availability. A typical food parcel may contain long life milk, pasta, tinned vegetables and fruit, tea or coffee, biscuits, and soup. If you cannot access your nearest food bank, delivery may be available although not guaranteed.

Support if you are facing barriers to participation in Business School Community events or initiatives
If you are facing financial challenges that specifically prevent you from accessing events or global experiences related to Imperial College Business School, then you can apply for a subsidy from the Inclusivity Fund. Applicants should note that their applications must include evidence of their finances and that applications are reviewed periodically on specific dates (indicated on the application form). This is not a bursary or for individual general financial aid but should be related to specific events or initiatives.
Team Competitions Support Request Form
If you are a group of students who would like to apply for funding towards covering competition expenses, then you can apply for support via the Team Competitions form. Please note that teams applying for this need to be:
- gender balanced
- internationally representative of the student body
- consist of a mix of representatives from different Imperial College Business School programmes
If you are a team from one programme, please approach your programme team for support.
