Whether you were cycling in the forest,  blowing glass in Kitengela or relaxing in Nairobi, I hope you enjoyed your free Wednesday afternoon.

We are past the mid-week point of the GEW academic visits and on the home stretch. Thursday see's us spending the day at Nairobi Arboretum in the Radisson Blu hotel. 

  • Breakfast will be available from Harvest restaurant on the 2nd floor from 6AM
  • Please be ready in the hotel lobby to depart at 0815AM to Raddison Blu
  • Dress Code: Back to business casual dress code, but please bring layers as we will be exploring the arboretum at lunchtime, and in A/C room for most of the day.
  • All business visits will take place in the Radisson Blu and we have another packed schedule of speakers.
  • Another collective sensemaking session will take place in the afternoon so please sit in your groups for this.
  • In the evening, students signed up for Carnivore restaurant will be dropped off to the hotel first and then congregate in the lobby for departure. Food and drink at student's own cost.
The Imperial and Omnia team are available should you wish for restaurant or bar recommendations. 
 

A Note RE Departures

Please be advised that there are long queues and multiple security checks at Nairobi airport, so we would recommend arriving minimum 3 hours before your flight, or 4 hours before if you prefer to have a more relaxed experience.

Note 2: The Nairobi marathon is due to take place on Sunday 7 July and will close the expressway. We are expecting the expressway to close from 2200 on Saturday 6 July to 1600 on Sunday 7 July. However, this closure could cause further delays to the non-expressway route to the airport on Saturday evening.

For those departing on Saturday 5 July, buses will be departing from the Trademark hotel early, the time is TBC while we investigate the traffic conditions but potentially as early as 1700. There will also be a bus for the KQ departure, but time of departure is TBC. Please add your name to the spreadsheet if you want to join the bus departures.
