Daily Update 1: Safe travels to Singapore!

 
Dear Students,
 
We hope you have a safe and smooth flight to Singapore (despite the Heathrow disruptions), and we look forward to seeing you here!
 
This is the first in our series of daily updates for you whilst you’re in Singapore! These daily updates will be how we communicate with you throughout the week and will include useful information such as departure times and any changes to the schedule.

We will send out these updates on IB Connect and to your Imperial email around 20:00 Singapore local time. Please ensure that you look out for an IB Connect notification or look out for an email notification so you can check the plans for the next day. If you haven’t already, you will need to download the IB Connect app and ensure that your notifications are switched on.

• 12:00-14:00 Guided City Tour (Optional):  For those who pre-registered for the city tour, please meet in the hotel lobby ready to depart at 12:00. We recommend you bring some water with you. You can leave your luggage at the hotel.
• 15:00 Hotel Check-in: You will be able to check in to the hotel from 15:00, if you arrive before this time ask at reception for luggage storage facilities.
• 15:45 Coaches depart for Heritage Race: Meet in the hotel lobby to depart for the Heritage Race. We will be travelling to the start point by coach so please be ready to leave with the group on time. 
  • There is walking involved so please wear appropriate footwear.
  • We recommend casual dress and travelling light - a small bag/backpack is fine.
  • You will be split into teams for the activity and at least one person in each team will need access to mobile data to communicate with the race organisers. If you need to purchase mobile data we recommend getting an e-sim from Airalo or Ubigi.
  • The end point of the race is at the welcome dinner - you may wish to bring a top to change into or toiletries to freshen up. 
• 18:30 Coaches depart for Welcome Dinner at Empress: If you are unable to attend the Heritage Race there will be coaches departing from the hotel at 18:30 - please meet in the hotel lobby for a prompt departure.
  • If you are travelling directly from the airport to the dinner the address is Empress Restaurant, 1 Empress Pl, #01-03 Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore 179555.
• There will be coaches returning to the hotel departing around 21:30. We have a busy day on Monday so we recommend getting some rest!

If you are arriving late to any of the sessions taking place on Sunday please contact Gemma via WhatsApp on +447860357902 and we can provide guidance on where to meet us.
