Itinerary is Live!

The itinerary is live! There are many ways to see the itinerary.

All addresses and speaker details are listed in the event details so you can learn more about your week.

We will be sending daily newsletters to the email associated with your IBConnect account to advise how to prepare for the following day (e.g. footwear, any changes to the timings, meeting locations).

Airline Tickets & Industrial Action

We have been alerted there is potential industrial action on 30 May and 4 June, please follow instructions from your airline provider if this affects you.

With regards to the flight on 4 June that we have arranged, we plan to share your airline ticket to a group folder on IBConnect for you to download, please keep an eye out for the email regards this.

SAS will try and rebook the group on other flights in case there is a strike next Wed.

They do recommend that everybody does the following though:
- open the website www.flysas.com
- fill in booking reference number
- fill in last name
Your reservation appears
- fill in contact information (email and phone number)
- go back regularly to get up to date info re the flight

Attendance policy

You have been pre-registered for all mandatory events, but please have a look at the full itinerary.

Please note that we will be taking attendance throughout the week. As it is an overseas module, you are expected to achieve 100% attendance.

For excused absences, you will still need to submit MCs to the Programme

Sustainability efforts

As part of your overseas module, we are taking steps to align with Imperial’s sustainability efforts.

This includes working with suppliers that have existing sustainability policies, using public transportation in-country where possible, and not providing any single-use plastic on trips. For your own planning, please bring a reusable water bottle on the trip.

Carbon offsetting

We are also continuing our partnership with Profs Who Fly, an Imperial initiative begun by Professor Jem Woods in the Faculty of Natural Sciences. This carbon offsetting initiative is part of our sustainability suite of activities to encourage responsible travel.

Consider carbon offsetting your travel. You can make payment directly via this tool.

Profs Who Fly supports the Neno Macadamia Trust (NMT), an agroforestry charity that enhances agricultural resilience in Malawi through improved income and the provision of a nutritious crop (macadamia nuts) which is available when conventional crops are not and is more resilient to drought.

If you do carbon offset, please let us know! ibglobal@imperial.ac.uk.
