Daily Update 4: Cultural Activities

 

Dear Students,

We hope you've enjoyed the first two days of company visits and activities. Tomorrow gives you an opportunity to rest, refresh, and enjoy some of the culture Singapore has to offer.

Reminder: If you haven't already, you need to register for the Singapore Maritime Week Exhibition which we will be visiting on Thursday 27 March.

Cultural Activities

There are several optional cultural activities taking place tomorrow - these activities required you to pre-register via IB Connect. If you didn't register for any activities, you have a free day.

Chinatown Tour

Departing from the lobby at 10:00 - we will travel via MRT to Maxwell station in Chinatown. This is a walking tour through Chinatown's temples and food culture. The tour will end around 12:30 at Maxwell Hawker Centre with free time for lunch.

If you want to stay longer or continue your day in the area, you are welcome to do so. Otherwise, we will head back to the hotel via MRT.

Important: to access some temples you may need to cover your shoulders and knees. For some temples, you will need to take off your shoes.
 

Water & Sky Tour

Meet in the lobby at 10:00 and travel via coach - we will travel to the boat docking location. The river cruise will last approximately 45 minutes. After arriving back on dry land we will head to Marina Bay Sands and head to the Sky Park Observatory. You can then return to the hotel via MRT or stay in Marina Bay to continue your day.

Gardens by the Bay 

You have three options to collect your tickets:
  1. Collect in the hotel lobby from an Austral team member (Sofia, Iggy, or Tang) between 10:00-12:30.
  2. Meet in the lobby at 16:45 and travel with the Austral team via MRT to Gardens by the Bay and collect your ticket en route.
  3. Collect the ticket from Shake Shack at Gardens by the Bay . 
The Rhapsody Light Show takes place at 19:45 and 20:45.
