  • When can I register my interest in volunteering at WTT?!

  • Do I need to attend every session?

    No, you do not need to attend every session though we do recommend that you volunteer for as many as possible. This helps to build relationship, rapport and trust with the participants. If you have been confirmed to volunteer at a session but then are unable to attend, please inform the Student Life lead at your earliest convenience.

  • When is the safeguarding  and briefing session?

    All volunteers are required to attend the safeguarding and briefing session on Wednesday, 4 February at South Kensington Campus from 12:00 - 13:00 GMT. During the session, the Community Engagement Team will provide an overview on safeguarding and overall projects aims and objectives.

  • When will volunteers be notified of their participation?

    The Student Life Team will notify volunteers each Friday to confirm their place for the upcoming week’s session.

  • How can I get to the Edward Woods Community Centre?

    Edwards Woods Community Centre is located at 60 Norland Rd, London W11 4TX.

    Volunteers are free to make their own way to the centre, but we will also be providing free travel to Edwards Woods each week from the Imperial South Kensington Campus. Volunteers wanting to take this option will need to meet by the statue of Queen Victoria in the Imperial main entrance by 1:15pm the latest. Taxis will be leaving campus at 1:30pm the latest.

    Volunteers will need to indicate the dates of requiring free taxi during during registration and confirm again by responding the email sent each Friday.

    We will not be providing travel back to the South Kensington Campus, however there are good transport links from nearby White City/Shepherds Bush. Alternatively, the Imperial free Shuttle bus stop is located a short distance away at the White City campus. The timetable is here.

  • How long should I expect to stay and how many elderly participants will I need to help at a time?

    Residents can drop in at any point during the time. Each volunteer will be expected to stay for the whole two hours to assist, helping one resident at a time.

  • Do I need to bring my own device ?

    Please do not use your own device during the session. Most of the participants will bring their own devices.

  • What happens if the session is cancelled?

    In the instance where a session of WTT!? needs to be cancelled, we will inform all registered student volunteers within 36 hours.
